February Fun

Homemade Valentines

Yep, it meets the baker's specifications

Gotta love a heart-shaped funfetti cake

Love helping Mommy in the kitchen

Finished product

YUM...

Definitely meets the baker's specifications

Valentine's Day morning...Heart-shaped banana pancakes

The annual Timberwolves game with Frank. It was a fun night, but another loss for the Wolves.

Caedon wanted to play basketball so bad. We settled on looking at the display basketballs.

So this is Baby Kate. She definitely has pink eyes (scary I know), but Caedon has become a Mr. Mom with her. Every morning he wants to feed her and pretends to take care of her all day. For the record, he still thinks Figure Skating is boring.

She's still working on that Cheerio

Baby Norah trying broccoli for the first time

Lovin' the broccoli

Like a canary in a coal mine

Nice welcome home Minnesota! Eight inches of fresh snow in the driveway? It almost felt like a backhanded b!@#$ slap to the face. Despite the cold, it was nice to get home. So we made the most of it and cracked open the shed, cleaned off the sled, and took Norah on her first sled ride. Admittedly, it was a short ride, but Norah seemed to love it anyway. Caedon wanted to play soccer after reading a book, "Franklin plays a game," but quickly was seduced by his first love amid unseasonably inclimate conditions for the game. Man, he loves this game. The last picture represents lunch time shenanigans involving BLTs and lettuce hats.

Arizona 2010

What a week in Arizona!! We escaped the frozen tundra just in time to enjoy the "dry" heat of the desert. Though the mid 60's and 70's didn't get us in the pool, it was a nice respite from the icicles and snowdrifts back home. We spent as much time as we could outside soaking up the sun and the warmth. Caedon couldn't get enough golf. The first morning he literally jumped out of bed and asked to get dress (something we struggle to do at home) so he could go outside and swing the clubs. So most of the days consisted of golfing in one form or another, at night we sat outside next to the fire. Jen and I had a opportunity to spend two days and a night at the Ritz Carlton for a medical conference (the "real" reason for our vacation), which was a vacation within a vacation for us. My parents were nice enough to watch the kids for us while we were out. This was such a nice getaway...we may just make this an annual winter vacation.

7 am tee time in the backyard

Bedhead and a crosshanded swing, nothing better

I loved how this picture turned out. The bench seat looks like a pair of big glasses

A watchful sister hoping next year she can play golf

This was one of my favorite pictures from the trip. Caedon and my dad went out on the course to hit some balls. I captured his swing right at the top of his back swing. Notice the perfect shoulder/hip turn, left foot planted, knee angled ready to clear the hips through with a hands finishing high. I wish I could have taught him one of those things.

18th hole at Johnson Creek Golf Club

At the local park doing guess what, more golf

Caedon put the clubs down for a while to play on the equipment

The sky overlooking the 18th hole

We were running around the park when out of the blue Caedon jack his pants up, I told him not to follow Papa's fashion sense (just kidding)

Norah is in the process of teething, no pearly white to show for it, yet, however everything has been in her mouth

A cute little cactus we saw on our walk

My parents backyard becomes another room after dark.

Making a pit stop at the house to say hi to everyone. Little did I know I was on my way to shooting an 81, what the heck.

I forget what hole this was, maybe it was because I was in the desert wasteland off the tee. Turned out to be a great picture opportunity anyways.

Another one of my favorite pics. This poor cactus has taken a beating, it's situated about 15 yards off the tee box.

The signature mountain top 16th hole

Smores around the fire

My two cuties

Another one of my favorite pics. We have a similar picture of Jen and Caedon at 10 months old
